Iota Songs - S/T 7" - Super Value Records

Iota songs is a little 7" that found its way into my mailbox. Damn nice pop songs, too bad I don't know that anyone has or will hear them since they have already parted ways. 2 songs "Orange" and "Grounded" are offered here from this Austin outfit. One of the first things I noticed about this 7" was the recording quality. Call me a snob who has been scared from sitting in the studio, but the sound quality on this 7" is really well done. The vocals are pleasant and melodic and on "Orange" there is a backing female vocal. A fine example of mature twee music. Keyboards and all the appropriate pop pleasantries adorn the song. Side two with its ditty "Grounded" is less upbeat and could easily fit in on a Pavement record. Two thumbs up.
