Karate - Unsolved - Southern
Review by: Chris Boehk
Unsolved is the fourth full length from Boston's Karate, and like the other 3 it's really beautiful. Continuously moving in new directions, Karate move further away from the rock and more towards the jazz. This record reminds me a lot of the third record Bed in the Ocean only it's quieter and softer, the songs are a little longer, and the guitar playing is a little less structured. These guys have continued to be amazing since I picked up their first 7" what seems like forever ago. Smooth bass lines, extremely tight drumming, intricate guitar melodies and a soft voice make this record a piece of art and I highly recommend it.
