Jennifer
Perkins can see decorative possibilities in almost anything.
If it can be drilled, painted, glued, or bent, she will
make it into a piece of jewelry. She got her start selling
earrings made from fishing lures at family garage sales
in her home town of McKinney, TX. Today she still scours
the lure aisle for treasures to add to her line of one
of-a-kind revamped vintage pieces for her successful
online shopping site Naughty Secretary Club.
Jennifer
graduated from South West Texas State University with
a BA in psychology and a minor in philosophy. With this
lofty degree in hand, Jennifer set out to conquer the
business world. She managed to land a job as a secretary.
With few challenges to pursue and lots of time on her
hands, she decided to return to her childhood passion-
jewelry making. Jennifer combines all of her fave things:
music, pop culture and vintage goodies in her sassy
jewelry and accessories. They are sold at stores throughout
the US and Canada as well as online at www.NaughtySecretaryClub.com.
In
addition to making her own business a success, Jennifer
set out to help other young business women of Austin
become successes too. She has helped form an information
and support group, Babes in Business Bonanza,
to disseminate information, provide a forum for the
problems and celebrate successes of women in business.
Jennifer
and Naughty Secretary Club have been
featured in magazines and newspapers such as Lucky,
The Wall Street Journal, Teen Vogue, New York Times,
Elle Accessories, Alternative Press and
more. Her jewelry has also been featured on such TV
programs as Knitty Gritty
and Craft Corner Death Match.
Naughty Secretary Club makes its big
screen debut this summer with pieces worn in the Bad
News Bears and Idiocracy.
Jennifer has been branching out into the world of TV. Her first
appearance was on HGTV’s Crafters Coast to Coast.
Look for Stylelicious spring 2006 on

Stylelicious
is a hip series that focuses on wearable crafts. Jennifer
also hosts her very own daily program for the DIY Network
called Craft Lab. Each day on Craft
Lab there is a new guest, a new craft and a
new adventure.
When
Jennifer is not working (which is not often) she enjoys
spending time with her husband, dog and cat in their
kitschy South Austin home. Jennifer also co-produces
an Austin, TX fashion show and craft bazaar called Stitch
and owns a record label called Has Anyone Ever
Told You? with her husband. Jennifer is currently
working with the Austin Craft Mafia
on a group book as well as a jewelry book of her own.
She will also have projects in several books coming
out in 2006 including Tees: 50 Things to Do With
a T-Shirt by Sarah Sockit and Not Another Teen
Knitting Book by Vickie Howell.
Jennifer's
life long goal is to go on a VH1 show about the 50 worst
metal bands of all time or most awesomely bad backup
dancer moments and make snarky comments.
